Dusty ran across the road with a smile on her face. A small mouse ran ahead of her. She was determined to catch it.
Hey you! Get back here!
The mouse ran through a small hole and Dusty stopped. How could she get in? She then noticed the broken window and, with grace and agility, leapt through. The mouse thought it had got away.
Dusty crept up behind then suddenly the mouse bolted and she sped after it. The mouse turned the corner and Dusty follwed. Suddenly, the mouse stopped, but Dusty didn't. She kept running until she realised the mouse was gone, and looked behind. She sighed.
Very clever, but now I'm gonna have to catch you
She shook herself then over balanced. She let out a yelp and fell over the side. There was a great splash, then Dusty re-surfaced, soaking wet.
It was amazing. She had heard of it but never seen it. She must of fallen in the big water! Dusty shook herself and looked around. No, it wasn't nearly big enough to be the big water. She pulled herself out and padded round. It was like a giant water bowl. Except much warmer.
It was deserted. Dusty must of been the first dog, or person, in there for a long time. Maybe she could stay there, to rest for a while.
Dusty wandered over to the wooden table at the end. It had a few old towels on it. She pushed under them, nose first, and wriggled about until she was comfy. Then she yawned. Time for a well earned rest.
Life in the city was hard, you didn't get to rest much. So take the chance when it arrives.

Blackened body slunk towards the old place. Golden-amber eyes scanned the area as his blackened nose took in the scent of a mouse, and another dog. A soft unheard growl rumbled in his stomache before stoping. Leveling his head with his shoulders, his blackened pads carrying him quickly towards the barns hald cracked doors. Pushing his way in he looked around. Ears pricked high to listen for any sounds, nostrails flared taking in any scents. Shkaing his darkened coat he lifted his head ever so slightly as he saw nothing here. A mouse scampered across the ground in front of him, but he paid no attention. He lifted his head up high and walked towards the pool. Sniffing it before taking in a single lick, and shaking his head abit. Hearing a few howls in the far distance he threw his head back, a blood chilling howl coming from his throat. Lowering his head he glanced aroudn teh barn, not even seeing the towels ont he ground.

Dusty slid down from off the table and with steps as quiet as whispers she crept towards the dog standing alone on the cold, hard floor. She spoke
Hello, my name is Dusty
She could tell the dog was not the most friendly she had met, but having been in many a situation before, she knew to approuch with caution, yet to not appear cold. Maybe she could make a friend of this dog. Yet, still un sure she just stood smileing, waiting for the dog's reply.
Night leapt through the window, not as gracefully as Dusty. She landed down and trotted over to Dusty, then seeing the dog by the pool, stopped. Interesting, the pair didn't come across other dogs much.
Night stepped back to survey the building, it was sheltered, and safe. A good home for a while perhaps. Then remembering little Dusty standing next to her she said hello

Magic looked down at the dog and snorted abit his ears pricked ad full attention on the small dog. That it, before another came threw the window. Being relaxed before hand suddenly feeling out numbered, his hackles rose abit and his head lowered to even with his shoulders as he stood and backed away abit. Frightened? No, he just didnt trust anyone, especially if their was more then one against him.
Black Magic, he growled out his words. His tail lay stif across his bacl legs and he wasnt as calm anymore. He would've been relaxed just talking to the runt, but no, another dog had to come. A dog that looked, smelt, had to be part wolf. Not whole, no it wasnt in her to be whole, but still part. This made him unconfurtable, extremely unconfurtable. Not because she was a harder dog to take, but because she was part wolf and could have been from his mother's pack, a mere spy in the mix one of his sisters possibly.

Dusty breathed out deeply. It was like this everytime. Poor Dark would have no friends if Dusty hadn't trusted her.
Don't worry, it's OK, Dark is OK
Dusty wandered over to the table and pulled out a dead pigeon. After all, it was only fair that she shared some of her food. She padded over to Black Magic and dropped the pigeon. Duusty stopped.

His hackles laid down abit and his head lifted slightly, Kindness? he thought to himself. He was abit confused and not use to being treated kindly, or even being be-friended. His eyes looked toawrds the pigeon before falling back onto the other dogs. He fell silent as she complmented his name, glancing away from them and towards the ground. Lowering his rear frame to the ground he sat there, his head still slightly lowered.
Th-thanx... he said soft looking back up towards them. His eyes didtn stay in one spot for long, they danced around scanning the area, as if exspecting to see other dogs come from thin air to attack him.

Dusty smiled. And shook herself. There seemed to be dust everywhere, well, it was an old building. Just as these thoughts raced through Dusty's head, a pile of dirt from the ceilling (sp?) collapsed into the edge of the pool, as if it were silently agreeing.
So, where about's are you from? If you don't mind me asking she grinned. You could always tell a dog who lied, and dogs who lied weren't to be trusted. Dogs who told the truth were the bravest dogs of all, Dusty thought. But of course it was always good to have a back up plan, just in case.
Me and Dark come from the country, it used to be nice there but they covered the town in concrete and now it's a big city, like this one
Night nodded in agreement. Night wasn't one to start a coversation, she let Dusty do all the talking. It was the sad truth, that there was really room in the world for three lonely dogs with no home, three lonely dogs standing together talking in an abandoned swimming pool. God, it was Christmas, they should all be sitting by the fire with the kids, playing with their new toys. Maybe they just weren't acceptable in the modern world. They were outcasts, with no where to go that Christmas.
Come on! Does anyone know what today is? It's Christmas! Tne human celebration! Which means that all the people are indoors celebrating. Lets go outside, maybe it'll start snowing! Dusty smiled again. Maybe it would snow.

Magic tilted his head abit, many miles away... was all he said about where he came from. He didnt share his past with anyone, especially strange dogs, that he didnt trust and barely knew and with that said he listened to her words. Christmas....again? he thought silently as she stretched out his back arching slightly as he yawned. Satnding up he kept his head abit low and watched them before walking towards the cracked door he came in by. Once getting out side he stood there before sitting down and looking around. This'll be fun... he thought in an almost disgusted way but settled himself and relaxed.

Yup, Christmas, again, humans always seem to be celebrating something. Yeah, come on, lets go explore the city! Dusty grinned and Night padded up to her. Dusty stood next to the hole that she had entered the building in and waited for Black Magic to follow.

Nodding Magic fallowed in silence, his head almost even with his shoulder's but slightly higher. He had no problem with these dogs, and one day he might be able to repay them for their kindness, but now, he had the closest thing to friend that he has had sence he was a pup.

he sighed and fallowed quickly out the window, elagently<sp?) but still oddly. Fallowing quickly behind the smaller dog he glanced back at Night before watching Dusty. Okay... he said hesitantly.
